Rommel Oramas

rommel_oramas_bioRommel Oramas is a native of Quito, Ecuador, where dancing was a part of his culture and something he is very passionate about. He took his first tango class while living in Sedona, AZ where his teacher led him. He enjoyed learning to follow but his teacher soon turned him into his tango partner as a leader. Rommel enjoys teaching to inspire people to learn this captivating dance form. He believes, through personal experience, that the process of learning Argentine Tango has brought him a deeper awareness of self and of others. His classes emphasize connecting with your own body and expanding this connection to the partner, the music, and much more. He is continually finding ways to improve and to understand the pedagogy of this dance. His most influential instructors have been: “Los Totis”, Julio Balmaceda, Fernanda y Guillermo especially their teaching methods, Tomas Howlin, Fabian Peralta y Josefina Bermudez, Sebastian Arce, Maximilano Cristiani, Jesica Arferoni, and Graciela Gonzalez.

Rommel together with Daniela Borgialli received 2nd place in the US Argentine Tango Salon Championships in San Francisco in 2012, and 3rd place in New York City in 2013. They enjoyed participating in the Mundial de Tango in Buenos Aires in 2012 and 2014
